Stonehill College recently named the following local residents to its Dean's List for the Fall 2013 semester.

A total of 1,303 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI's fall 2013 Dean's List. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differ from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following local students have been named to the Dean's List for Fall 2013.

The following local residents are among those to be named to the Roger Williams University Dean's List for the Fall 2013 semester. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Students who began their studies before Fall 2012 must earn at least a 3.4 grade point average to qualify. Those who entered the university after Fall 2012 must earn a grade point average of 3.5. The following students have been named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the fall semester of the 2013-2014 academic year.

At Bates, dean's list distinction is earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.71 or higher.

Colby-Sawyer College recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement during the 2013 fall semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours in graded courses.

Each year, 20 Bates College sophomores with exemplary academic achievement and demonstrated leadership ability are honored as Dana Scholars, a distinction they hold throughout their Bates careers. Bates faculty and coaches nominate Dana Scholar candidates, and finalists are selected based on their academic performance as well as participation in college activities, community service and leadership.

About 60 percent of Bates students study abroad, and Bates offers access to academically rigorous and culturally enriching study-abroad programs in more than 80 countries.

On Thursday, December 12 and Friday, December 13, the CSC Players will present seven 10-minute plays at their annual performance "Requiem for a SNAFU." From horror to drama to comedy, each play is written, directed and performed by Colby-Sawyer students.

St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, welcomes the following students as members of the class of 2017. Each first-year student participates in St. Lawrence University's innovative First-Year Program - one of the oldest living-learning programs in the country - helping students make successful transitions from high school to college. Students live together and are taught by faculty teams, developing the writing, speaking, and research skills needed for college. Students continue to develop these skills in a spring First-Year Seminar.
